When it comes to portable grills this Weber 586002 Q320 grill is a beast. Any grill that can cook 18 burgers, 36 hotdogs or 2 whole chickens at a time does not seem portable but somehow Weber has created just that. Now, no matter where you are, you can feed a small army in no time flat.
Operating on a standard 20-pound propane tank, this grill comes with dual stainless-steel burners, a 21700 BTU-per hour input, and an electronic ignition that ignites at a push of a button. With reliable lighting, as well as, adjustable burner valves, help to regulate the heat and insures high-quality cooking.
The Weber 586002 Q320 also gives you the room to cook as much as you need all at once with 462 square inches of grill space and 69 square inches for a warming rack. As an added bonus this grill also has 2 folding worktables, complete with tool hooks, as well as, a stationary cart, recipe booklet, and a 5 year limited warranty.
Weber also gives you two porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates, a removable catch pan and a reinforced nylon frame with cast-aluminum lid. This does make the grill a little on the heavy side.
Since the grill is a taller lid with a center-mounted thermometer, light on the handle, and a large weather-resistant the stationary cart comes in handy. Even though it is a bit on the heavy end the cart does come with rolling wheels which allows for smooth mobility and a screen that will hide the propane tank.
What I Like
First of all, this grill is extremely easy to put together. It should not take any longer than 30 to 45 minutes to be up and running. I found myself extremely surprised at how sturdy this little grill is. Even though it is not the largest grill and portable this grill does not look cheap and nowhere near tiny. It is more or less a small tank disguised as a grill.
It might sound unbelievable but this grill heats up like nothing I have ever seen! From 0 to 450 degrees in just a little over 1 minute and 550 degrees in just under 90 seconds. That is almost scary fast. This has to be my favorite thing about this grill. There is no more waiting to heat up the grill for 5 to 10 minutes. As you may know, when you have 3 hungry kids to feed any time you can cut off your meal prep time is more than welcome. However, if you do have little kids I would be careful and keep them away from the grill due to the quick heat feature.
What I Don’t Like
It is hard to not contradict myself when stating what I like and do not like on this grill. I love the Weber Q 320 outrdoor grill because it is so sturdy; however, this grill is rather heavy. It would not be extremely hard to move the grill for an average sized man.
This being said, I would not want my wife to lug this bad boy around the Girl Scout camp. It is just a little too awkward and heavy for her and would need at least one other person to get out of the car and set up. Since the Girl Scouts are all about team unity, on second thought maybe this grill is just perfect for their first team building exercise. Either which way the grill itself is easy to set up, extremely easy to use, and makes a great steak. There is little more you would want in a grill.
